Entry Level Police Officer

-Officer Starting Salary: $51,307.00

-Officer Top Step: $87,816.00

-Paid academy training and benefits

Lateral Level Police Officer

-Officer Starting Salary: $57,008.00

-Officer Top Step: $87,816.00

-Paid abbreviated training period prior to field training with benefits.

 

Benefits:
-Supplied uniforms and certain equipment.

-Uniform allowance (once employee has completed probation).

-City paid retirement (Nevada PERS – vested upon 5 years of continuous service)**.

-City paid HMO medical/dental/vision (employee and dependent coverage) or Cost sharing PPO medical / dental / vision (employee and dependent coverage).

**North Las Vegas is a member of the Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) and the City pays 100% of the employee’s contribution to the PERS retirement plan. As a result, employees do not pay any Social Security tax but do have a Medicare deduction. The State of Nevada does not have a state income tax.
